.22LR not enuff HERE COME DA JUDGE!

The Judge LC is out, it's a polymer frame compact version.

Some people swear that a 20" barrel 12 ga is better. Well, get up in the middle of the night, it's dark and you have to walk down a hallway with doors on either side. What's easier to swing, a pistol or long gun?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttFslPwNEuc&feature=related

A coach gun handles very nice, bang for bang I would much rather have it. More control and shells are easier to find and cheaper when you do find them.

You're not going to find much that's more deadly at close range than a coach gun, but it's overkill unless you are expecting trouble. I like my Beretta 96. 12 rounds of .40 is enough.

Why else would you keep a gun like that around? In case somebody breaks in your house to do your laundry?

If I lived in a bad neighborhood and didn't have the option to leave, and am presented with a real reason to defend myself... I would have no interest in messing around. There is no kill like overkill.

But since I don't have the need, I don't have a coach gun.

For a trail gun, a $100 H&R .410 does the same thing as the Judge but actual has some range to it as well.

Good point. My guns are only for my love of firearms, I take them to the range or out in the woods out back, invite some friends, have a blast. Literally. I keep 'em locked up otherwise. That's why my most often used firearms are my antiques and GSG .22lr MP5-PK. I've shot the Beretta once this year, ammo for it is expensive, .22lr is cheap.

Same here, my favorite guns to shoot are my cap and ball revolvers and my shotgun (deer hunting and busting clay) :icon_thumby:

In the August issue of American Rifleman there is an article on THE JUDGE. There are several versions out there, stainless steel, blued steel, and lightweight frames of aluminum or polymer. If you want to put the bad guy down, use the loads with 000 pellets made by Federal. Winchester also makes the PDX1 410 Defender loads that have plated disks/shot combo's that should get the job done. Remington also has it's HD Ultimate Home Defense ammo, using 00 pellets or 000 pellets. I still like my Colt Python with 6 in barrell chambered in 357 with some nice hollow points.

That Winchester PDX1 .410 shell is a nasty shell. Because the disks are able to ride along the rifling of the barrel, accuracy is greatly improved. Its like having a slug in a .410 shell times 3 or 4. If you want much better range and accuracy, plus the take down power of a slug, then the Winchester PDX1 is for you.

Dave, that 28 gauge/454 version is the one the ATF went "Aww HELL no, you can't sell that to civilians" so it never made it past testing.

Yep......I think the bird shot to the face at 5 to 10 feet would put any meth head to the ground.

Great vid Dave!

Odds of hitting someone in the head are very low. The judge is largely a gimmick, it's huge and .410 shells don't pack much punch. I'll take a traditional handgun any day
