For education purposes. Whether you care to get and EV or not, information is power and this video provides a a lot of information. You'll need to set aside an hour to watch it.

We have sailboats, why don't we have sailcars?

They exist but it takes quite a bit of sail to move very little. I believe they are called wind racers.

EDIT: Corrected spelling. Should have caught it before.

Always see a few up here in the winter, they can get moving pretty good across a frozen lake. Some guys have skis on the bottom and others will run what looks like a giant ice skate blade

they do them on the beach here, also. no skids or skis though, small tires.

They used to do ice sailing on the bigger lakes around where I grew up. Those things are scary fast, I believe they regularly get up to 60 plus mph. When I was young I'd be all over it but I'm not sure I've got the stones to do that any more. It would theoretically work on a car too but the wind isn't always going to be 'sailable' relative to roads. Back in ND I thought about building a sloop-rigged buggy chassis with big balloon tires and sailing it around stubble fields in the fall.

They also had janky "snowmobiles" that were kind of like snow-airboats. They were definitely build from whatever was lying around. I saw one with skis made from corrugated grain bin walls.

You also need WIDE outriggers or heavy Ballast to keep the shiny side up, and even that doesn't work all the time, lol

One "sail vehicle" at a time on a 2 lane wide road might be doable, not practical just doable

Problem is if wind wasn't from the side the vehicle in front or behind would "steal" the wind of other vehicles...................traffic jam :)
Happens in sailing races all the time

Stationary wind turbine generating electrical power is best bet for wind powered transport on land

I was just day dreaming talking out of my ass out frustration with 2035 lol...but now may have a new project/hobby...road sailer...

The nation's power grids are outdated.

They definitely are but the power companies made sure you got one of those new, digital power meters to make sure they can squeeze every penny out of you without having to pay someone to come out and read the meter!

i bet tons of people are mad about those wifi thermostats. they all thought they were so cool at first. not so cool now. i like my old school thermostat that you bump the slider with your finger and no one can change it when you are not looking

Those thermostats can be disconnected from the wifi and continue to work like traditional units.
