Well, due to a large financial hit in my household, I kind of have to come barring anything unforseen.
I did something supid today. I'm now the somewhat disapointed new owner of a used camper. A 6.5x14 mini toyhauler with 5.5 foot interior height and 10 foot "garage space". Think an overgrown squaredrop camper with a ramp door on the back. Big enough to be usable and carry my motorcycle or ATV, small enough to be pulled fairly easily behind any of my trucks, and just short enough to not be comfortable standing up in. Considering that one isn't supposed to be hanging out inside when camping in nature, I decided the height tradeoff was worth the increased selection of tow vehicles. The disapointed part is that, as usual, I missed a fairly major problem during the pre-purchase inspection, wearthin the rose colored glasses as they say. Miserable weather didn't help and I should have insisted it be parked out in the rain to look for wet spots and leaks. Nothing that will prevent usage, but will need to be fixed in the next year or two. Not sorry that I have it, but am sorry that I couldn't use it to get a better price or had the opportunity to walk knowing about it. More on all of that in another thread after the weather has cleared up, I can better assess things, and take photos.
Pretty sure I'd fit into a tent spot, but I don't think they will let that slide. Looks like I need to find an RV camping spot regardless of the small size. Apparently I'm not long enough to qualify for most of the rv sites near the front (entrance) of the park, seems to be minimum 25 foot for those.
#8 & 9 are showing available to my size, but not sure I want to be that close to the office and right next to the dump station. Site 12A would be good, but unavailable. Possibly one of us, the dates match. Other than those the only ones listed available for my small camper are back past the dog park, sites 32-41. Considering that my righ doesn;t have a bathroom, it seems a lottle far on the map, but thats probably exaggerated and the site says there's a porta john back there. (I'll probably have on in the camper by then too.) Given what they show available, #34 or 41 might be the ticket.
Being back there might be an excuse to get the bicycle dug out of the weeds and cleaned up so I can ride it up to the bathhouse and to hang out. I saw somewhere that ATVs are not welcome, though hopefully they would be ok with loading and unloading from the trailer. Not currently planning to bring the ATV though. Unfortunately the roads in the back part of the park don't look very motorcycle friendly (loose-ish), even if I did have mine back in service by then I don't think they would appreciate me riding it back and forth to the bath house.
