Anyone know if the 2011 V6 Mustang are available on rental lots yet? Going to Portland In Sept and would like to try one out if I can.

.

Dunno about the rental thing.... but two weeks ago I saw a '11 automatic with 2.90 something gears thrashing on 2 of the newer LS1/2 GTO's on the local 1/8 mile drag strip. I don't know what engines the GTO's had but the Mustang guy was sitting in the pits with his hood open and was very forthcoming with info. Back when I was in high school the GTO was supposed to be a pretty hot car, and they couldn't show that little V6 Mustang a thing.

:yahoo:

Kinda makes wonder what my brother's '11 GT would do to one... :icon_confused:

Ford really did kick it up a notch with the new mustang. First time I saw the stats on the V6 I was shocked.

All i've got to say about the 2011 'stang is....

THE FREAKING 5.0L IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!! :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::headbang::headbang::icon_thumby::D:icon_surprised:

Saw one the other day...what a beautiful engine. In the same HP range as the new Camaro and Challenger, but with an engine that's 1L smaller.

The muscle car era is coming back my friends! :D:D:yahoo:

I'd like to see somebody take that new mustang 4.0 V6 with 305 HP and put it in a Ranger.

Probably pretty easy swap. 100-145 extra HP (Depending on what 4.0 you have now)

I can't imagine almost double the HP I have now.

EDITED!!!!
Sorry, I thougtht the 4.0 was still being used. Must have read something wrong.

It would be sweet, but the new Mustang mill is on 3.7 L.

And competely unrelated to the 4.0... which would complicate things.

FWI the 5.0 is going in the F-150 next year, which should explode the number of potential donars compared to only being in the Mustang. A Ranger with that engine in Mustang trim would be downright scary.
