1990 5.0L & AOD is in my 87 BII 4X4. Valve covers are within 1" of firewall.

I need more clearance between radiator and water pump. Bought a smaller radiator which fit under the frame; however would like to keep a/c and need the condenser.

I've read about xplorer FEAD swaps to gain space.

Does anyone know if a 2010 xplorer's FEAD will fit on a 1990 5.0L?

Thanks!

Mark

Did you mean 2001? 5.0's didn't exist in 2010.

I didn't know 5.0s weren't in the xplorer in 2010.

I called around asking about a 1996 - 2001. One of the yards I called said they had a 2010 that would work for me. I wasn't sure; that's why I posted the question.

Thanks for the info.

Should be fine.

Think Ford moved the balancer from 28 oz to 50 in mid 80's so the last of the 302 FEAD's should be fine.

The 1st gen Ranger/BII's are definately a cozy spot for the engine, the shorter FEAD will add much needed compactness.

If you need one, pretty sure I've got a spare. No a/c compressor, alt or wp but ballancer, left and right brackets, p/s pump and reservoir...Drop me a pm it you want.
