2009 XLT Fog Light Mod

I just performed the fog light mod on my 2009 XLT and it works great. Except now the fog light indicator on the switch does not light up when I switch the fog lights on. Anyone know what might cause this?

A kit I used required that 12volts and a ground required at the light switch to provide power to the internal bulb of the switch, not necessarily the same feed of power to the fog lights themselves..
