Hi everyone. I have to replace the upper control arm ( torsionbar suspension) and at the same time do the shocks, tie rod ends and probably the lower ball joint. On my old 98 Ranger I could just press out the lower but I am not sure about the 2008. Has anyone done this or have any suggestions? Thank you.

I have a full set of uppers and lowers if you decide to buy the ball joints with the control arms. $110 shipped. Brand new, still in the box. I bought the wrong ones for my 98.

Remove the snap ring on the lower control arm. (make sure you're supporting it with a floor jack or equivalent). Pound it out, and press the new one back in. Should be very simple.

Thanks everyone. I already have the parts. Because of the torsionbar suspension ,(and replacing shocks and tierods too) I wont have to worry about anything flying apart , will I? I know I have to put a jack under the LCA and relieve some tension but I am not used to a torsionbar.
