Hi guys,
When my truck is cold, it revs a bit before calming down to about 1500 rpm's, then I shift. Is this normal? Is there a fix?

Same here, mine start 1500 rpm and drop down slowly, I think it's the automatic choke, so I bet it's no need to worry about it, just let it go.

I have a 2010 that does that. If the engine is cold, it starts at a higher RPM to both help circulate oil and warm up a little faster. It should only last about 10 seconds or so before slowly declining to 1k. That is considered normal operation as far as I'm aware. I've seen mine go as high as 2k RPMs for a few seconds after initial startup, but usually only if the outside temp is below 50F.
