2007 8.8 axle code

i just got a 8.8 from a 2007 ranger 4x4 ext cab sport.

the axle code reads:
V318A
73 88 6H03

can anyone decipher it? i was told it had 3.73 gears.

i checked the tech library but the codes don't match.

Chances are that you just missed the 3 before that 73 at the beginning of the second line.

thats what i thought too. i doubled checked, but there isn't anything before it.

can you tell from the code if it has a limited slip?

There's a 3 there (undo the bolt, it may be hiding under the head).

Typcially there is a space between the first and second digits.

An open 3.73 diff will be "3 73".

A L/S diff will be "3L73".
