2007/08 Explorer Wheels

Found a nice set of 2007-2008 Explorer wheels and Michelins on Craigslist to replace my stock steel wheels. Went today to pick them up, test fit one on the front, and no bueno. Wheel center hole won't fit over the hub.

Is this a common issue? I have searched and found nothing that says they shouldn't fit.

Am I going to run into this problem with other late model 4wd Ford wheels?

Any input would be appreciated.

you could get them and mill out the center so it will fit

Well, I didn't think that would be nessecary based on all the info available...Maybe the info on this site should be updated to address this, but I digress...

I suppose I could, but it seems like more of a headache than it's worth. Also, once the wheels are milled, the hub would protrude beyond the face, making the center caps useless and looking...fugly.

Also, will this happen with other Explorer/Ranger wheels that come off 4wd versions?

According to information I got from Ford they should fit.
