I'm rather naive when it comes to vehicles, but my intertia switch has kicked off 4 times in 2 months.. have ordered a new one but need to know if there is something special i need to do before replacing it.. unhook battery ect.. i'm completely new to this but it looks as if you just unscrew, unhook and replace... is this correct or am i in for more than i bargained for..?? any helpful advice is needed/appreciated. Can't afford to have someone else do it for me.. so this granny is ready to learn all she can.. thanks in advance..

The switch doesn't get power until the key is turned. You have the correct action sequence. Unplug, unscrew, replace. With the key off.
