My turn signals have decided to work part time, sometimes they are working and seconds later they stop mid flash.

Is the flasher unit for the turn signals and the 4 ways the same unit? I have located a black box under the dash to the right of the steering column that I can feel clicking when they are working, it feels about 4-5" long by an inch square but I cannot figure out where to plug in a new flasher unit that I bought?

I've also looked at the signal arm, some have suggested that the harness plugs might be suspect. Do I need to replace it or just check the contacts?

You need to take the cover off of the box... sometimes you'll need to remove electrical tape that some tard at Ford decided to put on there. The turn signal relay is the big one at the top... should be black... mine's blue because I have an electronic flasher for my LED's.

Thanks, I'll go out in the cold and do some digging:icon_cheers:

Thanks "02ranger XLT" you helped me immensely. I found the box and got the cover off (and yes there was tape around it to add to the challenge). My biggest problem was trying to pry the cover securing clips "up" from the box rather than push them "towards" the box!

The location and box has got to one of Fords stupidest ideas. What happened to the old system of a round flasher unit that is easy to see/replace and costs $2?

I'm going to add photos and a brief decription for the next poor fool to have to do this fix.

Thanks again.
