Help!
Truck sputtering, stalling and will sometimes lose all power. engine will rev up to 5 - 6 rpms while I'm driving but it won't move. Horrible gas mileage. The diagnostic reading showed #2 misfire .Since I bought the truck used I went ahead and replaced the spark plugs and wires. No change. Replaced all the fuel injectors. 2 of them were missing o rings so I replaced them. No change. New coil pack. No change. Now at this point the truck starts running louder with a rattling underneath. Exhaust fumes are really bad. Someone says change out the harmonic balance. At that point I would've tried anything. So I replaced it. But there was nothing wrong with the harmonic balance. And no change on how it runs. Took it for a drive and at one point there was a knock like the cat was gonna come through the floor. Now it runs better but it still cuts out and runs poorly after I've been driving about 20 minutes or so. Took it to have another reading and now it's saying the #1 is misfiring!!! I would love any and all suggestions. I'm thinking the Cat is clogged. If so Can I bypass the cat somehow to fix the noise the fumes and it running rough( loss of power)? Or do you think it's something other than the exhaust system? This is my first ranger. And I love it but I'm still learning it.Can somebody tell me there thoughts?

when the experts get here the first thing they ask is what are the codes.
any idea how many miles?

There are 2 upstream O2 sensors, one on each side of the V6(3.0l) engine, near that sides exhaust manifold
Remove BOTH
Move them up and out of the way
Start engine and see if it runs better, it will be LOUD!!!!
If it runs/REVs better then exhaust IS CLOGGED
If it runs/REVs the same then not an exhaust issue

Ford numbers the cylinders on a V6 this way
3 6
2 5
1 4
front

Double check the firing order on new coil pack
one side is 1 2 3 , the OTHER side is 5 6 4 <<< this side often gets mixed up
[3 4]
[2 6]
[1 5]

Those are the Matched Pairs on the coil pack

Can be
1 5
2 6
3 4
as well, but 1 is always opposite 5, same for 2 and 6, and 3 and 4

Invest in a Bluetooth OBD2 reader, under $20, APPS are FREE
These work on ANY VEHICLE 1996 and up, not a Ranger or Ford thing, ANY VEHICLE 1996 and up
Then you can get the codes yourself
We need ALL the codes to help you, code list here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/OBD-II_codes.shtml

You can see why EXACT codes are needed, "I think it was............" is actually worse than no codes at all because you end up looking at the wrong things, lol

Yeah don't remember the codes although I was told the code for this particular problem was always going to be the same. First time it was the #2 then the second time #1 misfires.

But thank you I'll remember that...
