It's time to start slowly removing and rebuilding the parts truck engine. It seems to run well as is but since it's a spare and I will have it sitting in the garage I want to rebuild it. Is there a go to resource for parts, manuals, faqs/tutorials, that will let me build it the right way. My hope would be to make this a 300k mile engine with proper maintenance and when the engine in my current daily 04 Ranger goes I will throw this one in and rebuild the current daily engine. It's a 2003 Ford Ranger 6 cylinder 4.0 with AWD for reference.

The first thing I could recommend is a genuine service manual. I got lucky and found the set on eBay for my truck for $60 shipped. I prefer to have the actual book but you could get a digital manual cheaper or even free sometimes I think. It is lacking in a lot of areas and doesn't give a lot of true "step by step" procedures so I relied on the manual as well as many YouTube videos and this forum helps big time. That combination I'm sure will get the job done for you! Good luck!
