The A/C in my 2003 2.3L ranger is not working. The A/C clutch is not engaging. I hooked a set of gauges up and there is no pressure on the low side. I tried to add freon but, I could not add any (none would come out of the can the can is punctured :-) ). I'm not sure what I should check next.

If you have no pressure on the low side, you shouldn't have any on the high side with the system off. They equalize in the off position.

When you close the valve on the can to puncture the bung, you must then open the valve back up for the freon to go into the system.

The compressor will not start until there is some freon in the system.:)shady
