in need of some help.
2003 Ranger, 4.0, 4x4, auto. below the intake manifold, in the valley there is a two wire(yellow and black)well insulated, that connects to the harness. its connected next to the manifold on the passenger side. i'm looking for the name of the sensor or whatever it maybe called. the wires broke off at the base of the connector. i'm planning on buying a replacement pig tail to fix it but don't know the name. any help ?? the title of pic is not the vehicle but the engine bay is the same :yahoo:

Sounds like a knock sensor. If the wires broke off at the base there is no room left to repair and you will have to replace the sensor.

thank you everyone for the help! that's the exactly it, the knock sensor. the wiring actually broke at the connector (yellow arrow)
