2002 subaru broken timing belt


chances are, that thing is TOAST and not worth repairing since as you said its an interference type design.
 
Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking you could just pull the head off and replace the head and a new belt. Maybe get the cam inspected.
 
I wouldn't mess around with it. The engine is toast and they don't even have a title yet.

Find a different car.
 
If you can convince her to let it go for like $1,000, part it out and make twice your $ back!
