2002 Ranger XLT Vibration

I just bought this Ranger. Has 130Kruns good.Trans shifts good. Has vibration whe you start it.When you put it in gear it gets worse.You can put your hand on the rear of the bed and feel it.I took it to my friendly Ford dealer. They could not find it.But they charged me $109. Took it to two transmission shops.They said they did not think it was the trans.I have a hoist.put it the air did not see anything.So far I have replaced spark plugs and wires.The ball joints and shocks plus drive belt& 1 motor mount.They all had 130K on them.I thought i was pretty good shade tree mechanic.

This is an old problem that we used to deal with back in the day when I spent more time here.
Most likely it is the slip yoke on the rear driveshaft. Pull it out, clean the yoke good with brake cleaner, lube it up, and slide it back in (so to speak ).
IF the original steel driveshaft has been replaced with an aluminum unit as per Ford's TSB (did it on my '99 and '02 Rangers) you should be good. If not, look around junkyards for an aluminum driveshaft.

If while driving then slip yoke if just when running, to slow an idle or egr if it has one, may be bad or carboned so it is not closing fully when at idle, or bad dpfe controller

could be a dirty IAC valve or a vacuum leak also. Is the engine light on?

A vacuum leak will. Check for leaks for sure. I use an unlit propane torch but there are many methods
