2002 ranger edge tire size suggestions

i have a 2002 edge with the 4.0 motor. looking to buy new tires now, everything is stock and if im not mistaken the truck has 355 gears in it. atleast i think thats what i got when i read the axle tag. i was looking into 265/70/r15 but they are a little harder to find than 31in tires. anyone have any experience putting 31s on a truck with that gear ratio? i know it should have 4.10s for that tire size. what kind of mileage loss and hp loss am i to expect? thanks in advance

I would double check the axle tag. Since you have an Edge, like myself, you should have 4.10's. Do you have aftermarket wheels? I am running 235/75/16's without issue.

no i have the stock wheels. ill double check the axle tags, if i have 4.10s great. thanks for the input

My 03 edge 3.0 had 4.10s. 31s are fine. I currently have 31x10.50x15s on the stock rims.
