I have a 2002 ranger 3.0/auto with only about 83,000 mls.It runs great until I accelerate hard like when trying to pass.It starts cutting out and shaking like its starving for fuel. Also it only does this after it warms up and it has no trouble codes.Emissions are good.I have changed plugs, wires, pcv, air and fuel filters.I changed a collapsed pcv tube.I have changed the fuel pump and even the coil pack. The next thing on my list is the DPFE sensor but Im getting tired of spending money and not fixing the problem, so Im hoping someone on here might be of some help.Thanks.

You can easily rule out EGR by simply removing the vacuum line to the EGR valve.
Plug the line end and drive it to recreate the symptom.
CEL may take a few drives before it comes on (should get a P0401 - EGR Flow Insufficient).

When you floor the gas pedal, it takes the PCM a few seconds to go into Open Loop (ignoring sensor input), and activate the WOT relay. In your case, I suggest removing the WOT relay and see if that has any effect.

When you floor it, does the transmission kick out of OD and downshift into a lower gear like it should?

Here's how to test the TPS: http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/?p=30

where is the egr on a 2002? i cant seem to find it.it was very easy to find on my 01,but i dont see any thing coming off of the exhaust on my 02.im sure its right infront of me.and when i floor it the trans does down shift and seems to work fine.

02 does not have EGR or DPFE on it, I would start by checking fuel pressure, the other item would look at would be the temperature sensing unit for the ECU, it could be reporting the wrong temp and not adjusting fuel accordingly, and clean & check the MAF.
