My check engine light came on a few months ago.I disconnected the battery, filled up with midgrade,& put some Lucas Fuel Treatment in it.Light dissapeared for months. It's Baaack.I bought it used @ Drew Ford @ about 70k.Now it's@120k.I wouuld be grateful for any suggestions.Maybe plugs, wires, cap?,(Is there a rotor?),Fuel system cleaning, fuel filter,02 sensor?.I could keep going.Sh##t why not replace the whole engine.I forgot to mention that it has a slight miss & runs half ass. When I'm at a light it misses & the light starts flashing. It does NOT cut out @ 3000rpm like kmillers problem, but it runs poorly @ idle.I don't want to get raped with this repair.Tom,Jim,somebody please help. Thanks,Brian

you know that if you take it to a autozone or the like it will give you the codes and tell you wuts up...... we aren't psychic. but take it there i would claen maf, IAC, and throttle body, then check codes for f-ed up stuff

Check codes and report back with the code numbers...otherwise everyone is just shooting in the dark here....

I tried to get the codes @ Autozone in Lemon Grove,CA a few months ago. They said they don't do that anymore.Maybe I should try again @ a different location.Where else can I get codes cheaply?

any autozone should do it try a diffrent garage. they are fawking up if they don't. they have scanners for it.

My 3.0 recently did about the same thing.. Check engine light and poor idle.. Found a vac hose with a crack in it. The hose was on the front of the engine. My son found it and cut an inch off of the hose and reinstalled it for good performance afterward. I didn't even have to lift the hood!!! Son is learning..

Ha ha, that's good wrenching skills, when you can have someone else do it & it does not cost you anything.:D

Yep! But the little fukker still won't mow my yard! I've got 5 daughters and the one son.. As I get older I feel secure I'll have someone to take care of me.. Maybe not.
