My battery cable has corroded and is now the bolt that tightens it just spins. Called the stealership and its $120 bucks for a replacement and that comes with the negative as well. Dont need both. Anywhere else to get a similar battery cable for cheaper or is there a similar one I can make work?

Thanks for the help.

If it's just the terminal, just replace the terminal. No need in replacing the entire cable just for the terminal. They go for about 6 bucks at Autozone.

^^^ This. Or if necessary buy ends at the local auto-parts store and use welding cable of the equivalent thickness. A propane torch and some solder is easy to use to permanently attach crimp style ends.
Good luck,

Richard

just make sure that the corrosion has not crawled into wire underneath the plasitc coating if you replace a bad endpiece--the corrosion along the length of the cable will cause starting problems in a few months...

i bought an slightly longer aftermarket cable from the parts store & put the correct end/newbolts on myself for about $35 total....

if you are going to solder ther lugs on, make sure you crimp them first! just solder is a fire waiting to happen! the high current draw of the starter can melt the solder, especially if the starter is going bad, or the battery is low. i prefer the molded terminals to the clamp on ones, as they dont corrode as easily. you should be able to find a molded replacement at the local auto parts for around $20. good luck!
