So we put a used motor in a 01 B2300 with the 2.3 the starter is getting stuck engaged when the engine starts.

2.3l DOHC Duratec was in the 2001 B2300

Did you uses the ring gear(flywheel/flexplate) from the old engine or the "new" used engine

Was there a spacer on the flywheel/flexplate?

And did the Block Plate get put back in?
Its the thin metal plate/spacer between engine and bellhousing, its used align starter motor and ring gear

Yes to most it didnt have any so I used copper washers its much better now.

It didnt have a block plate. It had a rubber spacer for the starter

2.3 Duratecs don't use a block plate. the starter bolts go straight into the block.
there is a rubber seal between the starter nose and bell housing.

"needs verification alert" I think there are different starters for manual vs auto. the tooth counts are different.
