Hello All,
I am trying to isolate a vibration or hum on my truck. I have had this thing in and out of the shop and am getting a little frustrated trying to figure it out (and poor)
It is a 4x4 truck with the edge package 4.0 V6 150k miles.
The tires are new. The shop replaced a U joint on the front axle and recently just pulled the front drive shaft completely, I am driving it like that now and the problem is still there. I really thought the front drive shaft was out of balance.
The vibration is there at all speeds and is more aggressive at higher speeds, like on the highway. It is not a steady vibration but something that fades in and out constantly and feels like it is coming from the front drivers side.
I found several threads on the clunk these truck have in the rear drive shaft, and my truck has the steel drive shaft and the clunk. I want to have this fixed but am not sure it has anything to do with the vibration. It also looks like the previous owner recently had the front axles replaced.
This is driving me nuts, I was hoping to get a few opinions on what else to look for or perhaps someone that has had the same issue with their truck.
Thanks.
