I bought that 01 Explorer I was contemplating. I'll post some pics later, if it ever stops raining. I'd like to put some fog lights on it but I'm not sure the best way to go about this. Should I go factory, or are aftermarket ones good? I've found some cheap ones on Fleabay, but buying certain things on there make me nervous. Any suggestions?

Glad to hear you got the 'sploder!

Factory fogs would possibly be the least amount of work to install (I've heard that often Ford will install the wiring for them even if the vehicle didn't get them from the factory, all you have to do is find the wiring ends an plug everything in). But I'd go looking to see if it was already set up or not cuz I had been told my Ranger had the plugs on it and when I looked, I couldn't find any such thing. My 89 Eddie Bauer BII though didn't have wiring for foglights that I found, but it was wired up for an electric T-case and premier sound system even though it didn't have either installed...

If you don't have factory wiring, then you might be better off going with an aftermarket light unless you can get factory fogs with all the wiring an stuff. If you go aftermarket, don't cheap out an get wally-world specials though, IMHO. I'd get ones from a well-known brand like KC.

Good idea, it hadn't occurred to me to check for the factory wiring first. I'd assumed I'd have to run the wires myself. Even assuming it has the factory wiring though... how would I turn them on? Would I have to run a switch?

Lol... And yeah, I'd stay away from the EvilEmpireMart fog lights anyway. I avoid most things at that place like the plague.

Here's a few pics... She looks pretty nice for having some miles on her eh?

That does look nice! I even like the color! lol...

If the wiring is there in the front to plug the lights in and a spot in the fuse boxes for the relay and fuse, then there should be wiring for the switch already in the dash. You'd just have to go to a junkyard an pull the switch from a 'sploder there and plug it in the same spot on yours. While you're at the yard you could grab the fog lights too if that's the case.
