2000 trans shifter cable

i am going to try to replace a shifter cable on a 2000 ranger 4x4 and i was wanting to get some info on how to do this and if it is a hard job or any tricks you guys might be able to help me with
 
Disconnect the transmission shift cable from the steering column.
Disconnect the shift cable from the transmission column shift selector tube (7212).
Disconnect the shift cable from the steering column bracket.

Push the rubber grommet and shift cable through the bulkhead.
Raise and support the vehicle; refer to Section 100-02.
Remove the transmission shift cable from the automatic transmission.
Disconnect the shift cable from the manual control lever (7A256).
Depress the lock tabs to release the shift cable and disconnect the shift cable from the shift cable bracket.

Remove the transmission shift cable bracket from the automatic transmission.
Remove the bolts.
Remove the transmission shift cable bracket.

Installation

NOTE: If equipped with air suspension, reactivate the system by turning on the air suspension switch.

Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
Move manual lever into the overdrive (O/D) range.
Adjust the transmission shift cable; refer to Cable/Bracket Adjustment in this section.
