2000 shifting

Ok, maybe this is a stupid question, but it's been bugging me. I have a 2000 ranger 4.0L 4WD. I'm pretty sure it's the 5R55E 5-speed trans. It shifts through 5 gears, but should there be a kick-down after 5th gear or not?

I guess I'm trying to figure out the correct RPM at 65-70mph with 4.10 gears.

edit: I know very little about auto trans and thus the stupid question.

Not sure what you mean by kick-down, maybe you're referring to torque converter lockup? My truck has auto trans with 4.10 gears and I run about 2200 rpm at 65 mph, around 2400-2500 rpm at 70 mph.

Well, that pretty much answers my question. I run about the same with my truck. What I meant by the "kick-down" was a reduction in RPM associated with a gear shift. I know that a 5 speed trans should have 5 gears, but I wondered if there was a kind of "overdrive" that reduces the RPM a little. I guess not. Again, sorry for the stupid question.
