I've got a 2000 Ranger XLT EXT Cab 4.0L Automatic that I've been wanting to modify for hunting and all around fun. I'm not so much mechanically inclined, and this will be the first vehicle I've ever tried to modify. This truck is, as well, an everyday runaround/work truck.
So far, I've been thinking of adding bigger wheels/tires and a 4" lift. A Baja sort of front bumper and heavy duty rear bumper. Of course body modification as well for cosmtic reasons (Scoop on hood and molded fenders to flare out over tires rather than the blastic type currently on there).
I was thinking of adding another gas tank to extend range, adding an air compressor to fit under tool box, and figuring out a way to fit a small pipe type boom off the rear bumper (should be able to come off) for hoisting deer/elk/other big game for skinning.
So, what I don't know is what is doable and what isn't. Nore do I know how best to set the truck up without screwing it up. Any advice and input would be great. Any ideas would also be appreciated, as I have to admit that I don't know what I'm doing here.... Yet.
Thanx in advance,
Eddie
