Hello, got some 4x4 issues on the little womans ranger. It's a 2000 but has a live axle (32mm nut not hubs) The 4x4 engadges but pops out after a few miles. I guess its a t-case problem but unsure if the acctuator is vacum or electrical? And is this common and what is the solution?

Also didn't 2000 rangers come with hubs and explorers with the 32mm nut? Has this thing been changed or were they available both ways?

Thanks

Sounds like the T-case is popped out. It is an electrical T case no vacuum things here. There is an electric motor that shift into and out of 4x4.

I am not sure the motor could do this but if you want to try cleaning the motor and seeing if that helps then try this: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/TCaseshiftmotor.htm

As for the Hub thing... 98, 99 and about half 00 trucks had the vacuum hubs, the other half or more of the 00 trucks recieved the live axles. Although it is possible your truck was converted to live axles.
