Longtime member, F250 owner now, refurbishing one of my old Rangers for my grandson. All was going well until the EGR tube from the EGR valve to the exhaust blew apart when we started the engine.
It’s loud and runs poorly so I started looking for a new one. Can’t find it on any Auto Parts store sites and was hoping Ford might still have them available. Doesn’t seem prudent to get one at the junkyard since this one was so fragile. We also snapped one bolt at the valve fitting, but it’s not our first rodeo with extracting that.
I considered plugging both ends but a real repair is preferred.
Anybody want to throw me a rope with a part number or able to verify that I can get it from a dealer?
Kid is really working hard to get this on the road as his first vehicle! All new plugs, wires, coolant/Tstat, oil/filter, brakes, etc. I’m going to buy him 4 tires if we can get this tube replaced (has to pass inspection).
Yes, I searched before posting….but didn’t visit a dealer yet.
