Hey guys im new to the forum and need some help. Im currently building a 92 ranger with 9"s of lift. I want to put 20" fuel hostage wheels with 35" nitto mud grapplers. Im concerned about fitment and im wondering if anyone has a setup similar to this? I need help with proper backspaimg and wheel width.pics always help. Thanks and i will be creating a thread of the build soon.

Typically the 35" tires people run on these trucks are of the 12.50"-wide variety and are fitted to either 15x8" wheels with a 3.75" backspace, or to 15x10s with 3.75 or 4.5" backspace.

For 20s, really all that would change from that is instead of a 15" wheel you'd be looking for a 20" of the same width (keeping the backspace the same). Mostly it's all about putting the tire itself (the tire's tread edges) in the same location as an already known-to-work tire/wheel combo.

20x10s with a 4.5" backspace, and 35x12.50R20 tires should put you right about where you'd need to be (and won't be so wide as to strain your wheel bearings excessively).

This guy here used 20x12" wheels for his 35s (he doesn't mention the backspace, they look to be around 4" or so)... IMO I think the 12" width is a bit too wide for his tires, but of course everyone's opinions will vary.

Anyway, hope that helps.

Oh god please don't..... 20's have no place on a truck.

I beg to differ. I'm running 20's and my tire to wheel ratio doesn't look bad. Then again, I'm running 47's, not 35's...

I thought about that. I was thing of running 18's with 35s or 20s with 37s but im not sure if 37s will rub. The truck has 9" of lift. Thanks for the help guys

Back in the day I ran 37" iroks on 6" suspension lift, 2" spacers, and 3" body lift. Wheeled the hell out of it for 8 months like that, no rubbing at all...

If you plan to be off road with it at all (maybe not?) I would throw in that you're always better off with more sidewall (15" or 17" wheels). Reason being is they will conform to the terrain better when aired down for more traction without near as much risk of pinching the tire between the rim and a rock leading to a puncture and/or a damaged wheel.

If this is solely a street-queen, then of course you can disregard.
