Not sure where to post this question(s) (please move if needed....)

On the V8 swap i am having conflicts figuring out the electric fuel pump location. Thought of a different system that will involve 2 micro pumps that will feed the switching valve then the main fuel line to the carb. This set up will involve a 2nd switch in the cab that will be 3 throw, front, N, rear, along with the original front back switch that runs the separator valve (F&B).

my thinking is both switches on front tank should work. the pump switch will hit a relay, then pump. X2 front and back... (see diagram)

thanks

You can get a dash switch which operates the line selector and fuel pump power selection

So single switch on the dash.

I would use a relay in engine bay for fuel pump power, 12v 30amp 5 pin
5 pin has the 87A terminal
And just give relays coil 12v with key on and then use the dash switch as the Ground for relay coil, like Ford does.

Same for line selector, give it 12v key on and then run Ground wire to dash switch

So you just need 2 wires and local cab ground to run every thing

As an example
When cab switch is Open(ungrounded) then selector would be on Front tank and FP Relay would be open(pins 30 and 87A connected), powering Front pump.

Cab switch closed(grounded) changes selector to rear tank and closes FP Relay which now powers rear pump(30 and 87 now connected) and cuts power to 87A, front pump

30 would be Fused FP power wire but needs to be key on power only

thanks ron.

The truck was born 2 tanks so the switch is already there as is the switching valve. Figured easier to add a second 3 way switch to power the 2 separate pumps.

as i have it wired now is a 12 volt + on/off switch to an inertia switch then a relay then to a single electric pump that I am having a bitch of a time finding room to mount it.

(they say it is easy to do a V8 build.... LOL)

cheers
