Hi all. Just picked up my latest b series/ ranger. 2 quick questions. Trucks an 04 b4000 extended cab. If anyone bought the Gibson extreme duals cat back, did you have to remove the spare tire? Question 2. I'm a pretty big guy 6'4 240. Any quick tricks to get the seat to go back another click or two? Thanks

no on removing the rear tire i would guess cause ppl dont make exhausts for stock trucks that require removing a stock part that is ment to be there i would think and on the seat i dont think there is but you could try new seats but that isnt quick

Yeah, it would make no sense to make and exhaust kit and not have it fit for the specified model. LOL, but the seat I saw a rail extender, that lets you slide it back more. I'll dig around on the internet and see if I can find it again.

All of the brackets I see to do this, just moves the seat itself backwards a few inches, the brackets just bolt into the factory seat mounting holes, then the seat attaches to the brackets. I would think that you could just modify the seat position without the brackets and drill new holes and move the seat back farther without needing those brackets. You could just have some brackets fabricated but I don't really see the need. Plus the only site I found doesn't even mention Ford and only seems to be for these sub-compact cars they build now.

You can gain another half to 3/4 of an inch in seat position by moving the seat itself on the slider rail. You have to remove the seat bracket from the floor, but that's not too difficult. I replaced my 93 XLT worn out bench seats with Mustang buckets (several other seats are direct swaps, too) and it took me longer to get the seat belt anchor bolts out of the floor of the truck than anything else...those suckas are ratcheted down hard. But even if you can move the seats back on the tracks a little, the back of your seat might hit the back of the cab unless you have a crew cab truck. Being big is a challenge ain't it?...I'm a BOB (big 'ol boy) too and have several scars from living in a world made by and for the smaller folks.

What about explorer seats does their tracks go back further than the trucks? Back to the exhaust topic I have seen cat back dual kits that require relocation of the spare tire.( not exactly fords, just in general)

I don't think explorer seat tracks will fit, the floor pan is different. I've put explorer seats in an 84 bike and a 90 ranger and both times the seat tracks had to be swapped over to the original.
