well i was plannign on getting a 4" lift but since the my funds are tied up in my spring break savings im not going to spend that much haha.

from oreilly where i work i get a wicked discount on a 2" lift.
for 150$ I get 2" blocks and u-bolts for the back and 2" coil spacers and bolt extensions for the front. then a set of 4 rancho 5000 series will cost me 160$

so im planning doing 2" lift with a set of brand new 31x10.50x15 wrangler M/Ts from wally world. On my stock backspaced american racing style wheels.

right not its stock with 235/75/15s and they are close to rubbing but never do...

yall think this will work??

whos got pics? i wanna see pics!

ummm...idk i'm at stock height with 30s, but I had to cut the hell outta the fenders. I think with a 2in lift 31s will prolly still rub unless you do some fender trimming.

here's a 2" lift with 31's

clears fine..

$150 for a 2 inch lift? and that's with a discount? i work at autozone and our 2 inch block sets are $40 or $50. i've seen coil spacers on ebay for as cheap as $40 (not counting shipping) i'd shop around some more.

i pieced together a 4 inch lift from different TRS'ers and stuff I got from work. i've spent $330 so far, but i've got explorer leaf springs for the rear (1-2" of lift) and long travel rancho shocks, a drop pitman arm and extended brake lines.

as far as fitting, i'm sure 31's will be fine. the p235's measure close to 29" if i'm not mistaken. if they do rub, it'll only be in the front and then you can just trim the fenders.

I was able to run 31s on my 88 with no lift. they rubed only when at full turn, on the sway bar with stock offset wheels. I ended up installing a 2" body lift to stop the rub when wheelin hard over bumps. so with that said depending on the condition of your stock springs im sure a 2" or 2.5" would be fine. On my ranger I used skyjacker #132xs 2.5" lift springs in the front got them for about $140ish shiped to my door from summit racing. and used explorer leafs in the back.

Here are a few pictures of the 31s on stock wheels with out lift. I cant for the life of me find a picture of the BII after the 2"bodylift.... Hope this helps.

This is it stock with out the bodylift.

Yes, an inch or two at most, pinion angle will be the same as it is now.

I got at least 6" out of 4 door Explorer springs, (yes, the two door Explorers have different springs. 4 leaf vs 3) Belltech 6400 shackles and 2.5" blocks. Ride quality is fawking stiff.

I did not know the leafs were different from 4d to 2d. I used 2d on my ranger and got just over 1".

EDIT: and yeah the 2d explorer springs are stiff.... like an add-a-leaf...

well i like teh nice ride of the B2...much much softer than the ranger was. idk i might just get the 4" lift to make it easier to alignt it afterwards cuz the 4" comes with drop brackets..well see one way or another shes going up in the air like all my other suv's ive owned.

Yup. I used 2 door Explorer springs in my '96. No joke I gained like 4 inches, but the stock ones had multiple broken leafs. Most 2 door Explorers I've seen have three leaf packs, and the four door models have four leaf packs.

I've got 30's on mine w no lift, I think I could run 31's. Might have some rub when I turn.

heres mine the day i got it. 2" spacers, aal, and 31x10.50 goodyear atd's on 15x8 rockcrawler with 3.5" b/s

now when its all twisted up offroad i get inner fender rubbage in the rear, 1" more would fix it. for 31's i highly reccomend 4" of lift or 3" and some fender cutting http://broncoii.org/techpages/fendertrim/index.html

hope this helps you out
