2.9L trans swap?

I have a 1986 Ford Ranger 2.9L V6 5 speed (FM-145). The transmission has 193,000 miles on it and the bearings are going out in it. I have been looking for another transmission for awhile now and finally found one in PA. (I live in MD) The transmission is also a FM-145 but it bolted up to a 2.3L. Is all I have to do is switch the bellhousings? Are the spines and everything the same?
