My son and I are hsving problems with his 88 Ranger. One out of the blue the truck started running very rich, so rich that the truck raw fuel pouring out of the exhaust. We had good spark in all cylinders but the back cylinders where dry so we decided to change out the fuel injectors. We just bought the truck and had no idea if the had ever been changed, what was there to loose right? We got a set of re-man injectors and installed them. After putting it back together and bleeding the air out of the system, the truck stalled after only running for a few seconds. When we went to crank over the engine again and it just stopped turn over. I found that one of the cylinders was full of fuel and not burning. While the plug was removed we cranked it over to see how much fuel was coming out of the injector. There was a LOT, and I mean a LOT!
Thinking that the new injector was possibly bad, I switched it with another one. The idea was to prove the injector bad by having the problem move to the new cylinder. It didn't follow the injector, same problem, same cylinder???!?
I don't know what to try next. Any suggestions????!
