i have replaced the rear fuel pump, and goin to replace the (high pressure one tomorrow) may 15...

i have replaced dist, with wreck yard one.. i goin to replace the tfi tomorrow also...

i have replace the spark plugs, wires, (brand new) .. coil is not that old

I have checked the injectors, ( i know it sounds stupid, but i dont know how to do a fuel pressure test)

it tries to run when u spray a shot of starting fluid in it.

it runs but smokes like it to rich out of the exhaust..

maybe a sensor is out, any one have a clue....

please help me out as this is my daily driver...

Definitely sounds like fuel to me.

The best way to check fuel pressure is to get a gauge and put it on the schrader valve on the fuel rail. Try to push the pin on the valve open to see if gas sprays. That'll give a good indication as to if theres at least fuel at the rail.

When you turn the key on, engine off, do you hear both pumps run or only one? If you don't hear anything, check the fuel pump relay 1st. Make sure the same voltage going in the relay is the same leaving it (turn the key on, engine off to check that)

Hope that helps!

PS: If you find that you are getting 40psi of fuel at the rails and good spark, I would wonder about other things like the EEC or timing chain. I don't think you have to worry about either of those, especially since it tries to start on starter fluid.

Fuel pressure regulator been checked?

Coolant temp sensor been checked?

Orange wire behind passenger side valve cover getting good connection?
