My credo
It is what it is
How hard is it to hook up eds from a 93 to 88

What is/are eds?

If you’re trying to swap a 93 4.0 into an 88 with a 2.9 like I think I’m understanding is what’s going on…

You have a couple options. Splice a bunch of wires or swap the dash and dash harness with the motor.

How comfortable are you with doing electrical?

if me and you were sniffing around a junkyard and found a fully intact 93 ranger...

what would we need to ground/test start and run that engine?

If it’s not complete, I wouldn’t even try other than to maybe spin the starter over. You honestly know a lot more of that stuff than I do. I’m comfortable with wiring, but that’s reading schematics and tracing wires. I’m sure the junkyard start up procedure requires less.

an intact truck.

a 93 requires a jumper wire and a quarter with a decent battery.....and you would have to have your own fuel source to feed the damn thing.

i have a jump tank....several jump tanks actually, which usually is just a gas can with a fuel pump in it.

its just a portable a controlled source.

one fuggin wire and a quarter to jump the starter relay......and vroom.

that is stand alone.

Splice is what I'm doing
