i had a lean system code for a while i was guessing it was running lean meaning not getting enough fuel so i changed the fuel filter and a new inline fuel pump and im now gwtting code 12 ,13 ,41 which is telling me it cant control low and high rpm and telling me no o2 switch detected and o2 senor circuit idicates system lean i did a 2.8 to a 2.9 swap and i do not have a o2 sensor at all was told the 2.9 FI did not neccesary need one but the truck starts perfect but will not leave the drive way cause soon as i put it in gear (5 speed) and try to move the truck acts like its out of gas and back fires some times out of the throttle body whn ya try to give it more throttle it sounds like it has a sock stuffed in the air intake im confused no idea what is causing the problem Please help my job depends on this truck just bogs down the hotter it gets the worst it runs wont idle please help

the 2.9 needs an o2 sensor to run correctly, that's probably part of the reason it can't control idle well. Put one in and see what happens.

but the thing is it ran great for about 3 months drove fine then it wouldnt drive distance and now will bareley run at all.

the ecu doesnt read the o2 till the engine reaches the correct temp till then the ecu controls the idle ie:closed loop open loop. with spring and summer coming in the engine itself stays warmer so it hits that operating temp sooner.and most people comonly drive short drives. if anyon else cares to elaborate by all means hope this helps a bit

and put in the o2 like those guys said x4

I drove my '87 B2 with the O2 sensor disconnected for a year or so. Ran just fine, MAYBE gave up 1-2 mpg.

if i unplug the SPOUT signal on mine it kinda bogs out and backfires maybe you have a short around that area? but mine is doing the same thing, its like somebody just turns the key off while its running i cant figure it out either.
