2.9 Pandoras box

I'm with Bobby... something rattled around in there. If it wasn't in there when you took it apart... it passed whatever it was.

Nothing in those pictures say... I'm not gonna make compression. Are you sure you didn't wipe an intake lobe off the cam on that cylinder?

Is it apart right now? If so flip the cylinder head upside down and put some alcohol in the valve area. If it disappears right away then take a closer look at the ports to see which is wet.

Good trick. Using that.

Is it me, or does nobody else see an impact mark on the head?

Maybe I'm seeing something that really isn't there but this looks like a significant connotation leak to me.

I think you're seeing a reflection...

Probably, my old eyes couldn't quite get the depth perception tuned in on that pic. I knew it looked almost like a mirror image, but with it being right on the edge of the pic, I wasn't sure. I think I can see it now that I've had a cup of coffee.

we probably shouldn't trust my eyes... just saying

All great testing methods, but I got to add--I got hung out to dry once, when I read 0-2 psi on a compression test, and it was simply because the valves on that cylinder, "were not opening"!

Exactly why I asked if a cam lobe was wiped...

Gut reaction was cam for me as well.

I agree with G8orFord, though. I can't tell what that notch is.

Acssnowrider has it. Notch indicates towards front of block. Looks like reflection off cylinder wall.

Cylinder walls shouldn't be reflective!
