2.9 no spark

i have changed the coil, and the ignition modual, what else is could it be?

do you have 12v at the plus side of the coil and at the appropriate contact of the module?

the pickup in the distributer, power to the coil, toasted TFI (yes even new)
bad coil wire, poor ground, bad connections.

I just had the same problem, turned out to be a bad ground in the coil I replaced the coil and have had know worries, could be totaly differant problem but something to think about.

I went through this a month or so ago. It was the TFI and computer. I think sometimes the TFI going bad will wipe out the computer.I had a rough time because I got two bad computers before I got a good one. I thought I was losing my mind. One other thing to check is the plug on the coil. That plug will go bad and give you fits.

Did you Check to see if the inline fuse blew??

and check the all important grounds.

where is the inline fuse? everything else checks out, so ill have to check the computer. where is the computer located?

the inline fuse usually is just after the starter solenoid on one of the "+" cables.


the ECM or main computer is located inside the cab on the passenger side...just infront/forward of the door, behind the kick panel.
