2.9 Engine bracket

Bought a 2.9 short block from machine shop.Drivers side engine bracket does not match from old block.Old block bolts were in L pattern.New block bolts are more like a V pattern.My brother thinks it looks like a 4.0 bracket pattern?
Did ford change the casting on later blocks?
 
I dont think they changed that. Got pics?
