Looking at going to a 4.0 again. Origional 4.0 was siezed sitting in the bed of the truck when I got it. I put a 2.9 in and got a wiring harness/computer from a Bronco II. Well I've been through my second transmission, and instead of getting just the tranny I'm planning to put a 4.0 back in and make it stock again. The 2.9 is also getting that famous knock, running rich, etc etc. I've replaced the MAP sensor, checked the idle position sensor, checked the FPR. So it could be Idle Air Valve or Coolant sensor. Thinking it's not the latter since it runs rich all the time.
My question is....
If I get a full doner that's a manual transmission, will I run into any trouble? Keep in mind wiring harness, computer, clutch can all come out of doner. I notice that the clutch pedal attaches to the bracket of the brake pedal, so I would not have to weld to the firewall. The rod (and clutch cylinder) is toward the floor with the resevoir up on the firewall. Anything else I need to be aware of?
