2.9 alternator

is there any bigger alternator that will run with the 2.9L?

I am running a 185A 1 wire unit on my 2.9. I got it from Motor City Reman. It is in the stock case, just rewound to make 185A. There is NO modification needed to mount it. It is a 1 wire unit, so you will need to run a new 4AWG wire from the alternator to the starter solenoid or battery.

I recommend Motor City Reman. They offer a life time warranty on their products as well. I sent it back to this last month thinking it was bad. They tore it all apart, checked it out, and cleaned it up for me for the cost of shipping both ways. Come to find out it was just a slipping belt.

the 130 amp Taurus alt fits with minimal modification.

yeah the 130amp taurus alt will work all you need is a longer adjustment bracket. or if you only want a few more amps you can get a 95amp from the f-150 inline 6 cyl.
