2.8 v6 no spark

i have a 2.8 ranger i got power to the coil but no spark out of it i replaced it any other answer help please

have you checked the pickup coil in the dist.

My excuse is it was early in the AM... Have you pulled the cap? The rotor might not be contacting like it should, could also be the TFI modual thats bolted to the back of the distributor.

Check that you have a good ground to the base of the coil to check the coil put a spark plug in the coil wire and set it on a good ground turn the ignition on and jumper between coil neg and ground and the plug should fire brite blue. quick touches dont hold it there and the plug should fire every time you touch ground. If it fires good your problem is in the wiring, TFI or ECM
