it isn't really worth it to "upgrade" a 2.8 truck with a 2.9 engine. The 2.9 has a lot more electronics involved than the 2.8 and would be a real task to run an ECU, wiring harness, sensors, etc. It might be an easier task to swap a 4.0 into the 2.9 Ranger. Is that truck not driveable/running?

If body parts are better on the 86' than the 90'....I'd put the better body parts on the 90' and ressurect the 90'....it will upgrade to 4.0 much easier. What is wrong with 90'??

that is a good idea but the ranger has extreme body damaged! and i love bronco2s
