I have a 1993 explorer with an auto trans and I am swapping it into a 1983 ranger with the tk5. The question is: Can I use the 2.8 flywheel on the 4.0?
doing so bypasses the great advantage that the heavier 4.0 flywheel offers in drivability and the greater holding power offered by the larger 4.0 clutch.
Besides the 4.0 really needs the greater inertial mass of the 4.0 flywheel
So while you can, why do you want to use a 2.8 flywheel?
