Is anyone currently running 2.8 liter pistons in a 2.9 liter. If so what is the after market part number and how did they work out for you

I know people here have, but I can't remember specifics at the moment. I believe it was to gain higher compresion in addition to compensate for some other things. Rusty ol Ranger would know if he still comes around. HTH.

How do they work
They were a good choice of piston. They are light, well made and the increased height manifested itself as increased compression (free power). They were quite a bit cheaper than some of the new stuff that is lying around too.

Update to 2.8 liter piston p/n's
The part number from Ford for 2.8 L piston to use is D6ZZ61110; the Sivlovite P/N is 1174.
An important note is the 2.8 L pistons are available in different compression heights; 1.511" and 1.535", the 2.9 L compression height (CH) is 1.528". The 2.8 L piston to use has the 1.535" CH.
Additionally, I haven't been able to source 2800 pistons yet with the 1.535" CH, so they may only be availabe for the BII/RANGER/SCORPION engines verse the Pinto/Capri/Mustang of yesteryear.
The TC1999 .030, I listed earlier is for Clevite but I am under the impression that it is for the 1.511" CH. I will repost upon final determination.
