Going thru my magical bus of "stuff". I never know what I'll find... And remembering a recent thread on difficulty of finding the distributor for the 2.8 I thought I would start a thread on identifying these dizzy.
Mine;

F*ck, I hate trying to post pics on this site. It's convoluted, unintuitive, and requires going backwards in order to post. And then there is no way of knowing if it took...

What is that distributor supposed to be for?

Or, are you trying to figure out what it's for?

Trying to figure out. It has an e4 date code, so 1984 and up. I'm did have a b2 with a 2.8 pass thru my hands a decade ago, so thinking it might be that.

Got it.

I don't think it's out of a 2.8. Here's the original stock 2.8 distributor next to the Duraspark replacement distributor from back when I did my '84 Ranger (about 2009):

The stock is on the left. Best I can make out on the part number is E37E-12131-BB:

It looks like your distributor has a substantial difference in the spacing of the driven gear to the mounting flange, and it's also shorter above the mounting flange.

Hope this helps, and sorry that I can't pin yours down any better.
