where is it secured? I removed the stock manifolds and the air injection piping at the back of the heads . . . and I think I lost my location to secure the tube. I just can't remember to what it was bolted ??

On my 84 Ranger 2.8 auto, the dipstick tube is secured to a bracket toward the back of the valve cover. I think it is the last valve cover bolt closest to the firewall before the valve cover turns in, that valve cover bolt should have threads extending up, the front hole on the bracket slides over those threads & is secured with a nut, then as the bracket follows the turn of the valve cover, there should be another threaded hole in the bracket, this is where the bolt to hold the dipstick tube goes....At least that is how mine is. Good luck!:icon_thumby:

I hope that makes sense, I confused myself. :icon_confused:
